Heroes second season was quite a slump according to some critics. And evidently in this season, things arent appearing to be much better for the series. As you can remember, NBC’s Monday night line-up promised to put the network into the ranks but because Bionic Woman was discontinued and Chuck, as lovable as the series may be, it was hit hard by the writers’ strike. Fast forward… Heroes and Chuck rated an all time low rating this past week. 8.2 million for Heroes and 5.8 million for Chuck. A red, red flag for the TV network. While last season, Heroes got an average of 11 million. What shocks me more is the fact that the series is continually sliding. Many consider Monday’s episode as be be their last straw, and others are jumping ship. I hope the producers make ways to ensure that our beloved series sneaks to the top again just like its season 1 quality.
It’s baacckk! Season 3 of Heroes is back, with a 2-hour premiere composed of two episodes, “The Second Coming†and “The Butterfly Effectâ€. And it’s so packed with events, it gonna take more than one post to tell you all about it. Since it keeps jumping from character to character, let me simplify it for you by telling you what happens to each character first.
The seasons opens four years in the future, as Peter tries to go back to the day it all started, and Claire tries to stop him by shooting him. Peter stops time and teleports to the present, in Nathan’s press conference in Odessa, Texas, where he shoots his brother. Nathan seems to die, then ta-daa! He’s alive again. He disappears from the hospital room, only to reappear and go to the chapel. Nathan declares that he saw God, and announced his goal to save the world by saving souls. After Peter brings Nathan back to the hospital room, he asks Nathan why he didn’t reveal their secret. Nathan professes that they might all be angels, but not if everyone knows about them. After Peter leaves, Linderman materializes, turns out he was the one who healed Nathan.
To be continued…

Typically our first occurrence with something ascertains not only a “standard†in our heads, but more significantly it forms the basis for our familiarity with something as well. When we see a movie, and then later see a remake of that movie, we instantaneously compare the two in our heads. But we judge the remake not on it’s quality alone, but also on how well it preserved the spirit or essence of THE UNIQUE. Because the original is what we know… it is the touchstone now… not only for quality, but for its own nature.
For this reason, from time to time even if a remake is actually a BETTER film that the original, most people will still complain (me too) unless it properly met those principles of familiarity in our heads. The original came first, and thus never had to face such standards… it could just be judged on its own merits. Not so with remakes. Books are more often than not read first and thus judged only on their own merits when read… but the movie version has those extra principles to be measured against in its place of just its own merits. That’s neither wrong nor right… it just is what it is.

Fox Atomic is developing an adaptation of Rachel Cohn and David Levithan’s novel Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List, Variety reports. Panettiere will play Naomi, a New Yorker who, to protect her close friendship with her gay pal Ely, creates a list of people the BFFs can’t lock lips with.

A stylized dramatic series that tells the story of a group of ordinary people who develop extraordinary powers. Characters include high school cheerleader Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere), artist Isaac Mendez (Santiago Cabrera), Japanese programmer Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), LAPD officer Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Congressional candidate Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar), hospice nurse Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia), stripper Niki Sanders (Ali Larter), serial killer Gabriel Sylar Gray (Zachary Quinto), and genetics professor Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy).

Victims of this commotion (wild guess) might be needing some doctors opinion on his broken arm, maybe even a second opinion? Casting calls for an E.R. doctor. He will have to 32-48 years old, whatever gender and ethnicity. He or she will be working in a hospital (maybe) and still located in Odessa, Texas. Someone has to assist the E.R. doctor right? So casting calls for a paramedic whose age range will be 30-40 male or female and any ethnicity. All he needs to do is show care and concern for an injured patient. And lastly, someone to scare people off, scary guy #1 and scary guy #2. This time, thery are looking only for males (thus, scary GUYS) 25 to 35 years old who will be preying on civilians in New York City.

A preview video was actually released this month. It showed who could have possibly have shot Nathan. So does this mean his dead on the third season? Better see it for yourself. But surely, the next spoiler reveals that a main character will die, but who? It wasn’t revealed, though the killer was revealed, and it was… Sylar! Yes that’s right, it was Sylar, but who he killed, you have to find that out for yourself. There will also be a new speedy character in season three. Who this character was, it wasn’t revealed yet, but it will played by Brea Grant.

Fans of the Heroes series are anticipating for the season three that has been revealed to be aired on September 22, 2008! And as the third season draws near, more and more clues are being left behind by the production crew. Airing date is not much of a spoiler, but what about what has been planned for the characters? Interesting enough for you to read on? When airing date was announced, the first episode will be three hours long, how about that, it is as if you’re watching a movie in a cinema because of its episode length? The first hour will be dedicated to a recap to the last two seasons of the show and then the next two hours will be allotted for the first episode, The Butterfly Effect.

For season one, there were twenty-three episodes aired to the public. Then for season two of Heroes, there were only eleven put on air. But for season three, rumor has it that there will be thirty-five episodes. The first episode will be three hours long! The first hour will be like a recap to what has happened in the last two seasons and the 2nd and 3rd hour dedicated to the first episode of the 3rd season. It is almost as long as any movie on cinemas. For fans that just can’t get enough of Heroes, they will surely get so much with its 35 episodes for season three.

If you’ve always wanted to share some spotlight with your favorite Heroes character, this may be your chance.
Spoiler TV has just posted casting sheets for the first two episodes of Heroes Season 3. If you remember our previous post, the first two mentioned are The Butterfly Effect and Dreamtime.
The sheet offers very little information but there are some important ones. For example, they are looking for someone to play Jessie: an intense guy with an explosive temper. Violent. Cruel. A mean looking S.O.B. Cool thing about this is that this will be a recurring character in the show!
Another actor they’re looking for is someone who can play an African Aborigine, described as a member of the Maasai, Samburu or another similar nomadic pastoral tribe. A storyteller with great wisdom. Is this Mohinder’s replacement?
