Heroes started off with such a big bang. The episodes were so well-written and it really took the superhero genre to new narrative grounds on TV. The public fell in love with the series and it garnered massive ratings.
Unfortunately, the show never got to take advantage of the momentum. Heroes’ second season was so badly written and jumped the shark so much that it lost a huge chunk of its audience. Tim Kring, the creator of the series, promised to revamp it but whatever his team did was not enough to stop the hemorrhaging fanbase of the show. Eventually, Heroes had to be canceled.
Cancellation, Heroes

There’s a new Heroes Webcomic out on April 15, that series writer Chuck Kim calls ”a mini-spin-off.†This new webcomic will be focused on the Company.
”We’re basically focusing on a group of agents within the Company,” says Kim, who also penned this online story arc, which will run weekly for five months. ”We’ll be seeing Bob and Elle and The Haitian in there, and we’ll be touching on HRG [a.k.a. Horn-Rimmed Glasses Man or Noah Bennett]. The story will start at right about the end of season two.”
According to Kim, some characters from the webcomics will show up in the flesh in Season 3. Unfortunately, the writers tight lipped on whom will appear.
Well, what are you waiting for? Read the comic!

We mentioned before how badly we felt that Heroes: Origins was put to sleep. The producers never really gave a good reason why they didn’t go ahead with it. We naturally thought it was because of the writers strike.
However, Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, mentioned the reason:
“We were taxing our creative team to do too much around that,” Silverman said. “We wanted 35 Heroes [episodes] and 12 Heroes: Origins, each of which was supposed to be a mini-movie and backdoor pilot. We reached far and challenged our people, and we decided it was better to focus on keeping the Heroes mothership as strong as possible.”
I never thought that Heroes would include extraterrestrials…

Is Nathan “The Flying Man†Petrelli coming back on Season 3? The answer is an overwhelming YES! Adrian Pasdar inadvertantly revelaed this massive spolier last MegaCon. Luckily a blogger was able to put down into writing before any of the bigtime sites did. Below is just part of the post:
He inadvertently revealed that Nathan is coming back for season three for various reasons.
A fan asked him if he would like to direct an episode of “Heroesâ€, and Adrian started to say “Well, I’d like to, but with the shooting schedules usually running ten days, so you’d be putting yourself out for…†in then he kind of trails off realizing that he was saying “Well, I’m gonna be filming, so it’d be hard to direct too†Hahaha. Then he was kind of like “uhhhh…â€
He also referenced Nathan constantly in the present-tense.
He jokingly mentioned a ‘theoretical’ scenario for how season two really ended. He was like “the clues were all there for what really happenedâ€. He posed the scenario that Nathan wore a vest — and either
a) knew the attack was coming
b) planned it himself
Both were really interesting, and he really seemed to be pushing them, because the guy who was leading the Q & A (can’t remember his name) was like “You used the word ‘vest’ twice†and Adrian started laughing.
Adrian alluded to the fact that he will have a lot of scenes with Claire next season, and him being a ‘father’ will be really important.

After watching the videos of the Heroes soundtrack, we thought everyone would give it five stars. Well, different strokes for different folks: Mikael Wood of Entertainment Weekly thought otherwise. Here’s the review:
Not unlike the superhero drama, the Heroes soundtrack swirls the familiar (classic Dylan and Bowie cuts) with the unknown (new tunes by Wendy & Lisa, who do the series’ incidental music). ”All Things Must Pass,” the first studio recording since 1998 by the Jesus and Mary Chain, may seem like the marquee attraction, but the group has mellowed too much with age. Focus instead on tasty exclusives from Imogen Heap, Wilco, and Yerba Buena, whose ”Maya’s Theme” transforms, Clark Kent-style, from an atmospheric slow jam into an Afro-Cuban throwdown.
Not too bad.

Is she or isn’t she? News around the blogosphere is saying that Kristin Bell has not yet signed on for Heroes Season 3. However recent events are saying that this is being taken care off and it seems we might see her again. This was confirmed by E! Online’s Kristin:
“I have it on good authority that Elle is very much a part of the writers’ grand plan for season three.(Fear not: Kring loves her just as much as we do!) So, if there is a holdup, I assure you it is more on the business (rather than creative) side of things, and there is still time to get this worked out before they go back into production. Oh, and by the by, we might not see much of Claire-bear in the first episode or two. Hayden P told us at her Candies soiree that production is “gearing up in April and I’ll be joining them in May when I come back from shooting I Love You, Beth Cooper in Vancouver.”
Next question would be is she coming in as a villain or a hero? We’ll see most likely around May or June 2008.

When we reported that the one of the two new characters, Joy, last month, we knew she was going to start as a baddie.
This was confirmed by E!Online:
Look for a new villain named Joy. Her power is superspeed she’s lightning-fast, like the Flash. Hiro meets her in a museum. He asks her if she has powers and if she is trying to steal some art. She convinces him she’s on the up-and-up and then makes off with a bunch of paintings. She’s described as a nymph-like character with the speed of a cheetah on, er, speed.
My problem with this is that Hiro could stop her on her tracks unless she decks him first. Is she a possible Hero or a shoe-in Villain? Will see once the season opens.
